What is Watwet?

Watwet makes it super easy for you to stay in touch with your friends. Using watwet (watwets are short message that you write on Watwet!) you can stay in touch with your friends. You can write watwets from the web or by sending SMS to Watwet! The next thing we do, is show it to your friends on Watwet. They receive it on their Watwet account, by e-mail and by SMS!

It can be anything really! You can tell your friends what you´re doing, where you are, what you´re feeling etc. It´s really up to you.

Is Watwet a social networking service?

Broadly speaking, yes. Watwet is a social networking service that you can use both from the web and mobile. The great thing about Watwet is that you can send a message to Watwet using SMS, and it will appear on your timeline and your friends’ timeline. Of course, if your friends have SMS notifications from Watwet enabled, they will also receive what you sent by SMS! Of course, we do the job for you, so you don’t have to worry! It’s all on the house.

Is Watwet a mini-blogging service?

If you wish to think of Watwet as a mini-blogging service, that’s totally up to you! Yes, Watwet also acts as a mini-blogging service. Watwet has all the elements of a mini-blogging service!

How do I sign up?

You can create your account by going to http://watwet.com/signup. Watwet is free and signing up is quick and easy. All of your personal information (including your phone number and email) is kept confidential.

How does it work?

After signing up, you can send watwets (the term we use for messages or updates) in two ways: type a message from the My Watwet page or send a text message SMS from your mobile phone to the Watwet short code if the service is available in your country, and you have confirmed your mobile number. What if Watwet mobile is not available in my country?

You can still use it from web, it’s accessible from everywhere and you’ll be able to receive updates by email as well. Soon Watwet will be available in more countries. So in the meanwhile, stay tuned!

What watwets can I send or write?

Will I pay for text messages?

Yes, it’s not totally free. You will pay regular SMS tariffs when sending watwets from your mobile phone using SMS. There are no premium charges. As for receiving messages from your friends, that’s totally free.

Can I turn on/off SMS notifications?

Sure! You can turn off SMS notifications anytime you want and turn it on back whenever you want. You can also schedule SMS notifications to work in certain hours.
